Forma studia

Students learn by doing in eight classroom lab sessions working individually and in pairs or small teams in an interactive classroom setting using laptops and their phones,

crowdsourcing some assignments in real time. Each class has components of lecture time, powerpoint presentations, screenings, class discussion, informal in class research and low stakes writing assignments as well as formal out of class high stakes writing assignments with out of class weekly tutorials and a final presentation with peer evaluation.

Obsah kurzu

This course introduces the key concepts of preparing a professional multi-media proposal in an interactive classroom setting with out of the classroom research and project development. A project needs analysis, the basics of scripting, audio, video, online and and interactive elements are covered. These elements are detailed in proposal form including a video treatment and script, internet design, companion interactives (apps, games, AI, AR, VR, memes, emojis and GIFs), social media and social responsibility as well as transmedia storytelling. Students progress to developing a comprehensive media project for hypothetical clients. Emphasis will be on writing a project proposal for a Prague based landmark or museum . With students working individually and in teams, they will analyze the existing media footprint of the landmark or museum while the bulk of the work is based on creating

a new media footprint to increase audience for the landmark, particularly millennials, like the students themselves.

Grading Policy:

60 % Final Project and Presentation

25 % Weekly writing assignments

15 % Class and project participation, attendance

Attendance Policy:

100% attendance is expected except in case of illness, medical emergencies and

serious family matters.
