Learning objectives:

The Master's Project course serves as preparation for the student's final graduate project. The project is a concert, supplemented by a recording on CD or other media, if necessary. The preparation of the project includes all organizational details such as the choice and reservation of the concert venue, its promotion, etc.

The course is taught in the form of continuous individual consultations, the student presents partial progress in the preparation of the project in class. At the end of the semester, the student demonstrates the status of the project preparation in the form of a concert.

Thematic areas:

1. CREATIVE WORK ON THE DEFINED PROJECT - completing the repertoire with regard to the dramaturgy of the concert in an attempt to create a varied, attractive form, containing contrasts and surprises. The aim is to draw the listener into emotionally rich music.
2. WORKS CONCERNING THE PERFORMANCE OF THE MAGISTRY CONCERT - arranging the personnel of the accompanying ensemble, arranging the concert venue, promoting the concert (website, Facebook, printed posters, etc.)
3. PREPARATION OF THE SEMESTRAL CONCERT - choosing the appropriate form of presentation of the partial results of the project. This presentation will be close to the final concert. The personnel of the ensemble may not be in final form, but the repertoire should be 80% ready.

Learning outcomes

The student has a comprehensive knowledge of jazz music repertoire and demonstrates a high level of proficiency in creating and delivering coherent musical experiences and interpretations. Realises, transforms, creates, arranges and/or produces music at a high professional level, expressing their own artistic concepts at the level of a developed musical personality. Is able to integrate knowledge gained from a variety of contexts and perspectives. Develops, presents and implements artistic programmes that are coherent and appropriate for a variety of contexts.Demonstrates appropriate skills in leadership, teamwork, negotiation and/or coordination, taking into account different artistic contexts.
