Students with the teacher’s guidance reveal the essence of the famous city and the culture that has formed it over the centuries to this day. They will leave the beaten daily paths to explore the urban jungle textbook of modern times in Central Europe. Gothic Prague, Renaissance Prague, Baroque Prague, Prague that tore down its walls to give rise to new settlements and finally Prague so remote that its inhabitants journey to see Charles Bridge.

From the structure of the city we move on to its particularities - houses, parks, events and suburbs, often neglected and falling apart.

Within one semester (two in total if students attend both the autumn and spring term courses) students may try to read the city and its structure to grasp the historical and social background of it as well as discover important artists/galleries.

Getting to know Prague in its variability helps students with location scouting for one's projects.

This class may very well serve as a location scouting.

Learning outcomes

Notion of Prague, its history and presence. Cultural insight. Learning more about potential shooting locations.

IMPORANT: location scouting included:-)
