Specific admission requirements
Candidates can be admitted to the Bachelor's programme provided they have completed a secondary, secondary vocational (exceptionally also candidates without completing a secondary, secondary vocational or higher vocational education at a conservatory) and have demonstrated the requisite talent and aptitude for the programme.
The admissions process cannot be waived. A standard component of the admissions process is a practical aptitude test. If the candidate fails to pass it, the admissions process can be terminated prematurely.
The decision to admit a candidate to the Bachelor's programme with a standard length of three years is made by the Dean based on the recommendation of the admissions committee. The final instance in the admissions process is the Rector, whose decision is final.

Recognition procedures at AMU are governed by Article Nos. 89 and 90 of Act No. 111/1998 Coll. on Higher Education Institutions, as amended and the AMU Attendance and Examination Regulations (Articles 8, 14, 18).

Profile of the programme
The four-year combined studies programme is available only in the Drama in Education department. Drama in Education is a comprehensive field of aesthetic education which uses the means and methods of dramatic arts. It is a system of social and artistic learning for children, youth and adults, focused on aesthetic cultivation, the acquisition of theatrical skills, personality development and pro-social behaviour.
Key learning outcomes
The programme focuses on students? overall cultivation, on developing their creativity and empathy, on deepening their ability to communicate and to work in a group, on acquiring the ability to express themselves through words and movement. Graduates are able to work with children and youth on theatrical or performed projects, and are qualified to teach drama at all types of schools as well as non-school facilities.
Occupational profiles of graduates with examples
Graduates of the programme are optimally developed in all aspects of their personality, with an emphasis on creativity, interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligence, communicative abilities and other specific abilities. The graduate is capable of teaching drama, of working as a fully-fledged teacher in extra-scholastic artistic groups, and of leading children?s and youth theatre ensembles.

After duly completing the Bachelor's programme it is possible for the student to continue his or her studies in the Master's programme.

Examination regulations, assessment and grading
Studies are assessed by credits and examinations stipulated by study plans; the student is notified of these through the information system.
The student registers for examinations using the information system.
The student is entitled to a second and third attempt to pass an examination. If neither of these attempts proves successful, the Dean may in exceptional cases permit a fourth attempt, known as a Dean's Examination. A Dean's Examination is administered by a commission with the participation of the Dean or a Vice-Dean appointed by the Dean. It is not permitted to repeat an examination for the main subjects or to repeat written examinations.
If the student is evaluated with an „F“ or ?credit denied", his or her studies shall be terminated in accordance with Section 56 (1)(b) of the Act on Higher Education Institutions, as amended. The decision is covered by Section 68 of the Act. If, for serious reasons, a student is unable to sit for an examination, he or she shall excuse himself/herself in advance; otherwise he or she shall be regarded as having failed the examination. A student may also arrange with a pedagogue to sit for an examination prior to the stipulated date.
The credit is an ungraded form of assessment of studies. It is allocated upon fulfilment of obligations stipulated for individual subjects and is recorded in the information system with the word „Credited“ (Z). An examination is a graded form of assessment of studies, which tests knowledge and level of creativity in the relevant subject. It may be practical, written, oral or a combination of these methods. For the main subjects, examinations are usually conducted before a committee.
The examinations are graded on the scale „A, B, C, D, E, F?“
A (excellent performance exceeding the relevant criteria),
B (above-average performance with a minimum of errors),
C (average performance with an acceptable number of errors),
D (acceptable performance with a larger number of errors),
E (performance that meets the minimum requirements),
F (unacceptable performance).
Apart from the aforementioned scale, the letter „X“ may also be used in the information system; this indicates that it has been decided not to allocate a grade for the relevant examination date. The evaluation must be registered in the information system within two working days following the examination or the allocation of the credit.
Studies in this programme are duly completed with the state final examination. This examination is held before an examination committee comprised of the faculty?s professors, assistant professors and expert assistants, or of invited experts approved by the faculty's artistic council. The state final examination and announcement of the results are public.
The student must sit for a state final examination no later than two academic years after fulfilling the study obligations of the relevant study plan. A student who has fulfilled the conditions for the relevant study plan, submitted a qualifying thesis with all the required formalities and obtained the required number of credits may register for the state final examination. The examination includes an oral defence of the Bachelor's thesis. The Dean stipulates the contents of the state final examination for individual fields of study on the basis of the recommendation of the relevant department.
State final examinations are graded on the scale „A, B, C, D, E, F“. The examination committee shall decide the overall assessment for the state final examination by vote in camera.
