PABLO DE VITA

Pablo De Vita was born in Buenos Aires. He is a Designer of Image and Sound from the Buenos Aires University (UBA). Between 1999 and 2000 he was a teacher of that institution in the Audiovisual Design, Analytical History of the Argentine and Latin-American Media and Edition. He also worked for Open InterAmerican University (UAI). From 1999 he is an investigator of the Museum of the Cinema „Pablo C. Ducrós Hicken“ and from 2001 Editor-in-chief of his organ of diffusion, the magazine of cinematographic investigation La Mirada Cautiva (The Captive Look).

He collaborates with several Argentine magazine Todo es Historia (Such us History, directed by Félix Luna), Criterio (founded in 1928), the local version of Cinemanía and Contrastes (Contrasts, edited by the Valencia Polytechnical University) and Italian newspaper La Repúbblica. He is a regular collaborator of the magazine Debate. For his work in the cultural journalism he won the award Italy 2007 to the Best Young Journalist of Culture and Society by the Embassy of Italy.

He is a member of the Film Critics Association of Cinematographic and his General Secretary since 2006. At present he is a columnist of National Classical Radio and he drives and produces in the mentioned broadcasting station Cinemascope, program dedicated to the movies and his soundtracks that has been provided with important guests from the national and international order.

He is co author of the books: Sequence Plane: 20 Argentine movies to reaffirm democracy (La Crujia), Nelson Pereira do Santos (Altamira); Leopoldo Torre Nilsson (Ediciones Altamira); Nuestros Actores 1(Ediciones del Jilguero); Los escenarios del adiós, algunos bares del cine argentino (Mar del Plata National University).

He was member of the Critics Jury in the Mar del Plata Film Festival and Signis Jury in Buenos Aires Independent Film Festival (Bafici) and part of the Official Juries of Short Film Festivals in Santa Cruz; Tandil and Villa Gesell (in Argentina). He has just covered Berlinale.

As conference in the XXIV Fair of the Book in Buenos Aires, in the Fair X of the Book of Río Gallegos, in the 2nd International Congress of Spanish-American Literature in Mar del Plata and was moderator for 4r. Encounter on Film Aesthetic and Cinematographic Theory (Faculty of Philosophy and Literature), and 4r Cultural Forum of the Mercosur, celebrated in Paraguay. He has realized presentations, courses and seminars in Firenze, Buenos Aires, Asunción, Puerto Madryn, Rosario y Bahía Blanca.
