The class introduces Master's level directing students to problems of lighting in a theatrical production.

To familiarize students with the technique and artistic quality of light as a creator of space and medium of meaning in a theatrical production.
- Outline and Syllabus:

Curriculum:
1) lighting techniques and their mastery;
2) light and space;
3) light and decoration;
4) light and the actor;
5) light as a dramatic factor;
6) light as an artistic factor;
7) light and dramatic time.
Syllabus:
Through the course organized in cooperation with the Department of Stage Design and an external specialist (light designer), directing students learn how to use light as a dramatic and artistic factor in a theatrical production both from historical and contemporary examples and from real practice.
