To discover hidden layers and broader contexts of mostly dramatic texts and later of programmatic and theoretical texts. Discussion of read material and written reflection.

Teach students to read carefully, to make reading a need for living, i.e. to prove its meaningfulness.
- Outline and Syllabus:

At the lower level the departure point is always a dramatic text and all demands made on the reader.
The first year is entirely dedicated to Shakespeare's works.
In the second year, students read texts (and study topics) of contemporary theatre.
In the third year (elective) they are familiarized with metatexts to learn how theatre perceives itself and what possibilities it offers.
