Synopsis:

This is a course of psychology and its practical use for a drama training teacher. It includes and overview of psychology, the organization and understanding of psychological terminology. Introduction to the fundamental psychological directions, their paradims and contributions, psychology disciplines (developmental psychology, social psychology and the like) as well, a section of self-experientialism, psychological tests and surveys, drama therapy methods and the psychology focused on the body is included.

Prerequisites:

Students should be able to orient themselves in the fundamental psychological concepts, be able to specify individual developmental periods in relationship to drama training, be able to describe basic personality theory and apply them in the educational process. Part of the exam is a defense of the individual works.

Study Objectives:

The aim of the course is to provide students with a sufficient orientation in psychology for use in educational practice. To create the ability to construct a meaningful and relevant definition of the psychology phenomenon based on their knowledge and knowledge of the literature. To identify the development of personality and the development specifics of particular groups in drama training (younger school-age, retired, and the like). To understand the development of children with behavioural problems, expand possibilities for managing that behaviour. Among other aim is an introduction of the students to a deeper understanding of the concept of personality, to teach them to select appropriate educational approaches based on the knowledge of various personality types. Finally, to map the borders between pscyhotherapy and drama training.

- General psychology (mental phenomena and processes)

- Psychology Methodology, Mental and social phenomena research methods

- Personality diagnostics

- Fundamentals of developmental psychology

- Fundamentals of personality psychology

- Fundamentals of social psychology

- Applied psychology, educational psychology and the psychology of actors

- Mental problems and psycho-pathology, crisis intervention

- Drama training and psychotherapy

- Further contributions of psychology to Drama training, Fairy tale archetypes and psychotherapy focused on the body.

Syllabus:

1. The subject of psychology as a science, the most important moments in the history of psychology, psychology paradigms, pluralism in psychology, fundamental psychology directions, basics of psychology terminology, sketch of concept definitions determined by paradigms.

2. General psychology: The psyche - experience, cognition, feelings and aspirations, behaviour, action, word and phrase. Concept of the conscious and unconscious. Mental processes and disposition, intelligence, memory and will.

3. The methodology of psychology: quantitative and qualitative research, research methods, experiments, observation, analysis of steps of action. Research in drama training.

4. Personality diagnostics

5. Fundamentals of developmental psychology

6. Fundamentals of personality psychology

7. Fundamentals of social psychology

8. Applied psychology

9. Mental problems and psychopathology, crisis intervention: problem vs. sickness, fundamental classifications of psychopathology, psychoses, neuroses and personality disorders. Difficult life situations and the principles of crisis intervention.

10. Drama training and psychotherapy: Directions in psychotherapy, transference and countertransference, psycho-drama therapy and drama training. Ethics in psychotherapy and drama training.

11. Fairy-tale archetypes and psychotherapy focused on the body: Archetypes and their role in the narrative, fairy-tale analysis, archetypal transposition of the narrative. The role of symbols.

12. The body in psychotherapy and the theatre, self-experientail lessons, grounding, chasms, sitting. A. Pesso and the Pesso-Boyden Psychomotor system in relationship to structured drama.
