Synopsis:

This lecture follows the same methodological pattern as „The History of World Cinema“ but at a more in-depth level. Lectures and discussions with students are accompanied by film screenings. The conventional understanding for courses in the history of cinematography at FAMU is that „history“ pertains to the period up to the end of the 1980s. Subsequent periods are dealt with in lectures focusing on contemporary documentary film (Petr Kubica, Documentary Film Department) and other relevant lectures and modules.
