The problem of photographic imaging is closely tied to the issue of gauging the quality and quantity of light and evaluating their significance in relation to the attributes of photographic materials. The concepts of white, grey and black are key for determining exponometric relationships from the photographic properties of photographed objects and the psychosensory scale.
