Gabriele Jutz´s workshop outlines the development of Austrian experimental filmmaking from the 1950s to the present days. The accent will be on the so-called „second generation“ of film-makers (1964-1971) who extended the cinema of structure to expanded cinema, as well as on recent developments, in particular found footage-film.

Gabriele Jutz is most remarkable Austrian expert on film and media studies. She has been teaching at the Universität für angewandte Kunst in Vienna since 1993. Her bookt Cinéma Brut- An alternative genealogy of the avant-garde will be published in Austria in 2009.

Credits terms and requirements:

2. The reflection of a workshop theme - written form (2-3 pages) and following discussion with postgraduate student Martin Mazanec
