Synopsis:

The history of film theory is designed as a series of lectures for students in first and second year reviewing the most important theories and concepts of film criticism since the 1910s and with a view to the interdisciplinary and historical context in which the theories emerged. This seminar is linked to the lecture and in it selected texts describing individual branches of theory will be read and discussed.
