Synopsis:

The course on contemporary aesthetics is intended mainly for students in the third year of the bachelor programme and it focuses on the most important problems and themes of aesthetics in the 20th and 21st centuries (e.g. emotions in the experience of fiction, aesthetic distance, communication models, aesthetic categories). In the course students learn about and reflect on the theoretical concepts of various theorists of significance in recent decades (Adorno, Šklovskij, Gasset, Welsch, Flusser, etc.).
