Synopsis:

The course is designed for advanced students of still photography

Outline and Syllabus:

): The main objective of the course is to improve and extend the vocabulary and terminology concerning the area of still photography. Students will be prepared to develop their abilities to speak on professional topics, to discuss the technical aspects of the profession, the social position of still photography as a kind of art, its aesthetic values etc. The topics will deal with the history of still photography, its current situation as well as its future prospects and importance.

Vocabulary: technical expressions concerning photographic equipment, description of cameras and accessories, their key parts, branches of still photography, terminology from the areas of aesthetics, fine arts etc.

Grammar: Joining this course will be conditioned by perfect knowledge of all categories of grammar and their faultless practical application.

Written skills: writing application letters for stays abroad, grantst, preparing a speech for an exhibition opening, a conference or photographic contest, writing reviews etc.

Picture monographies as well as summarising publications comprising both photographs and accompanying texts about prominent and outstanding photographers
