Synopsis:

A preliminary theatre project in which the students should acquire their first practical experience with the regularities of theatre practice.

Prerequisites:

This instruction continues lectures in Theatre theory and based on acquired skills and knowledge in theatre practice. This course is coordinated with the concurrent courses (particularly the authorial-dramatic seminar, stage design, acting training and working with props and puppets, incidental music).

Study Objectives:

The students learn about the specifcs of directorial practices from the position of the directed and the director in a constant movement among theatre practices and their theory. This course is concluded with a small theatre creation whose intent is to provide the students with personal experience in developing a theatre staging in all phases, contributing to the development of their theatre skills. This will also draw attention to the variations in theatre practices with children, link to individual instructional subject and support the connections and dependences among them.

Outline and Syllabus:

1. Dramaturgical thought considering the disposition and interests of a particular ensemble and indviduals, possibilities and conditions of work; looking for material and themes.

2. Searching for staging facilities.

3. Searching for a cast.

4. Searching for the shape of the future staging.

5. Blocking.

6. Presentation and reflecting upon the performances.
