Synopsis:

This course is primarily focused on the contact among drama/theatre phenomena - drama training - communication. Through an analysis of the relationship of the theatre and communication passes over into an analysis of the relationship of drama training and communication. Finally, time is devoted to an analysis of fundamental communication phenomena with a counter-definition of their relationship to theatre and drama training.

Prerequisites:

The students should have a basic knowledge of the issues of communication at a high level.

Students, as well, construct a syllabus for a selected theme in the area of communication. These theme are identical to those in the syllabus. Further requirements will be specified by the instructor in the course.

Study Objectives:

The goal is to understand the above mentioned relationships; as well to confront oneself with common models of communication, communication skills and socio-education knowledge; to undertand the basis of human behaviour and its charater; further, to expand perception skills in communication behaviour as a collection of marking and interpret them effectively; as well, to expand skill in creating communication behaviour as a collection of defined and undefined markings for interpretation.

Human behaviour and markings in behaviour.

Non-verbal communication.

Verbal communication.

Syllabus:

Theatre and communication - „communication of communication about communication“.

Drama training and communication:

- communication as a pedagogical category in drama training,

- communication as an artistic category in drama training.

Human behaviour and markings in behaviour:

- sources, bases and types of behaviour,

- semiotics,

- intentional and non-intentional markings in behaviour,

- markings in behaviour in dramatic plays.

Communication:

- perspectives of various professions.

Non-verbal communication:

- analysis of elements and codes of non-verbal communcation in relation to pedagogic and artistic tasks in drama training (practical).

Verbal Communication:

- analysis of elements and codes of verbal communication in relation to pedagogic and artistic tasks in drama training (practical).
