Synopsis:

This course provides a pedagogic understanding and skills basis for drama edcuation activity. This is a theory-practical course which enables students, based on the understanding of training events, to postulate professional approaches to training and education issues in practice.

Prerequisites:

A general knowledge to orient oneself in the study material, ability to independently work through a range of issues in pedagogy.

Study Objectives:

- An understanding of the training and education environment in which the work of the Drama education student will work.

- An understanding of the education conditions of the profession.

- An understanding of the purposeful instrument for personality development.

- Formation of teaching skills

- Formation of conduct related to teaching practice.

Outline and Syllabus:

Outline::

1. Pedagogic prerequisites for performance in the teaching profession. Fundamental factors limiting the training and education environment (societal and others).

2. The teacher as a reflective practicioner.

3. Models of schools and teaching.

4. Fundamental requirements for teaching processes.

5. Creativity and its support.

6. Teaching styles and working with them.

7. Fundamental requirements for education activities.

8. Pedgagogic conditions for expressive activity.

Syllabus:

1. Teacher - motivator - coach: merits and limits. Societal factors influencing concepts of educational practice. Evaluation system. Teamwork in educational environments.

2. Various levels of reflection. Proactive and reactive teacher behaviour.

3. Transmissive v. constructive schools and teaching and their relationship to the concepts of drama education practice. Fundamental prerequisites of constructive training. Drama education and school curricula.

4. Teaching experience as a fundament of Drama education: in fiction, non-fiction. Teacing problems. Wholistic teaching. Freedom in education and training, its aspects.

5. Prinicples of creativity. Barriers to creativity, Creative abilities and their development.

6. Criteria of teaching styles. Individualized teaching, its environment.

7. Relationship of the goal of edcuation and training to evaluation. Specific means of evaluating in art education.

8. Social relationships and working with them in groups. Cooperation, competitiveness. Working under stress in group activities. Class management.
