Synopsis:

This course provides s pedagogic knowledge and skills foundation for the student's drama training practice. This is a theory-practical course which enables, based on a comprehension of training, to postulate professional approaches to training and educational issues in practice.

Prerequisites:

A general ability to manage the study material and skills to independently manage an issue range in education topics are required.

Study Objectives:

- Understand the training and education environment in which the drama training student will be active.

- Understand the educational conditions of the profession.

- Understand instruments for purposeful development of the personality.

- Forming instructor knowledge.

- Forming an attitude towards teaching practice.

Outline and Syllabus:

Curriculum

1. Educational requirements for performance in the instructing profession. Basic factors delimiting training and educational environments (social and other).

2. The instructor as a self-reflecting practicioner.

3. School and instructive models.

4. Fundamental requirements of the instruction process.

5. Creativity and its support.

6. Instructing styles and working with them.

7. Basic requirements for education activity.

8. Educational requirements for expressive activities.

Syllabus

1. The instructor - animator - coach: advantages and limits. Social factorys influencing ideas of educational practice. An evaluation system. Team work in an education environment.

2. Various levels of reflecting. The proactive and reactive behaviour of the teacher.

3. A transmissive vs. constructive school and instruction and their relationship to the idea of drama training. Basic requirements of konstructive instruction. Drama training in school curriculum.

4. Experienced teaching as a basis for drama training: in fiction, outside of fiction. Problematic teaching. Wholistic teaching. Freedom in training and education, their aspects.

5. The principle of creative. Barriers to creativity, creative abilities and their development.

6. Criteria of instructive styles. Individualized education and its instruments.

7. Relationship of the goal of training and education to evaluation. Specific tools of evaluation in arts training.

8. Social relations and working with them in groups. Cooperation, competition. Working under stress in group activities. Class management.
