Synopsis:

This course provides a basic orientation in pedagogic thought and dealing with students. It offers insight, particularly, into the areas which are important for the drama training profession. This is a theory/practical course in which the students learn to contemplate pedagogic approaches and possible processes in training and education situations.

Prerequisites:

A general ability to understand the study material and to independently work through problem areas in pedagogy are required.

Study Objectives:

- An understanding of the training and education environment in which the work of the Drama education student will work.

- An understanding of the education conditions of the profession.

- An understanding of the purposeful instrument for personality development.

- Formation of teaching skills

- Formation of conduct related to teaching practice.

1. Creating conditions for teaching others.

2. Training and other factors and influencing personality development.

3. In school and extra-school influences.

4. Basic requirements of the teaching process.

5. Creativity and its support.

6. Teaching styles and working with them.

7. Basic requirements for education activity.

8. Pedagogic conditions for expressive activities.

Syllabus:

1. Education and Social values.

- Human needs and Education.

- Ethics and aesthetics education.

2. How to think about training and education activities.

3. Wholistic concepts in education: subject and social teaching.

4. Drama training in school curricula.

5. Transmissional and Constructive schools and teaching and their relationship to the concepts of drama training practice.

- fundamental requirements for constructive teaching.

6. Drama training in school curicula.

7. Experienced teaching as a basis of Drama training: in fiction and outside it.

- Teaching issues.

- Freedom in training in education, their aspects.

8. Principles of creativity

- Creativity barriers, creative abilities and their development.

9. How do individualize in training and education practice.

10. The relationship of training and educational goals and their evaluation.

11. Specific evaluation instruments in artistic training.

12. Social relationships and working with them in groups. Cooperation, competitiveness.

13. Working with stress in group activities. Class management.
