Synopsis:

This course provides a fundamental knowledge of pedagogic thought and dealing with students. It offers insight into those areas which are important for the drama training profession. This is a theory-practical course in which the students learn to think about educational approaches and possible procedures in training and education situations.

Prerequisites:

A general knowledge of the study material and ability to manage a range of issues in pedagogy are required.

Study Objectives:

- an understanding of the fundamental principles of education practice with various participants.

- an understanding of the instruments for a purposefull development of a personality.

- Linking of pedagogical thought with drama training themes.

- Form fundamental skills for creating the conditions for teaching others.

Outline and Syllabus:

Curriculum:

1. Creating conditions for teaching others.

2. Behaviour and other factors influencing the develpment of personality.

3. In school and extra-school influence

4. Basic requirements of the teaching process.

5. Creativity and its support.

6. Teaching styles and working with them.

7. Basic requirements for effective education.

8. Pedagogic conditions for expressive activties.

Syllabus

1. Societal values and behaviour.

- Human needs and behaviour.

- Ethics and aesthetics education.

2. How to reflect over training and education activity.

3. Wholistic educational concepts: subject and social instruction.

4. Drama training in school curricula.

5. Transmissive vs. constructive schools and instruction and their relationship to the concept of drama training practice.

- Fundamental requirement for constructive instruction.

6. Drama training in schools.

7. Experienced teaching as the basis for drama training: in fiction and outside of it.

- Freedom in training and educations, it's aspects.

8. Bases of creativity

- Barriers to creativity, creative abilities and their development.

9. How to individualize in training and education practice.

10. Relationship of training and education goals to evaluation.

11. Specifics of evaluation instruments in artistic training.

12. Social relationships and working with them in groups. Cooperation, competitiveness.

13. Working under stress with group activities. Class management.
