Synopsis:

A three-semester required course in which the students are introduced to a wide range of types of Drama training lessons in practice.

Work in the first semester is focused on the creation of a functioning group and personal social development. Familiarization activities, greater mutual understanding, removing barriers, contact, close contact, building mutual trust, consideration, willingness to tolerate the ideas of others and as well express one's own opinion.

Prerequisites:

Each student should actively participate in each lesson lead by the the professor and students. The students should master a wide scale of drama training methods and be able to use them in their practice. They should be able, based on the acquired experience, to plan lessons in drama training to harmonize the subject matter with the selected activities and adequately formulate goals. The student should be able to react to unplanned newly arising situations in the lesson and avoid insensitive steps.

The student should have teaching talent.

Study Objectives:

Introduce the activities of a drama training teacher in practice. Participation in games, exercises and improvisations to learn the principles of drama training with „one's own body“ and understand its educational ability. To get to know methodic procedures in building individual types of lessons. To independently prepare and execute a lesson. To reflect upon one's own practice and that of others.

Outline and Syllabus:

1. Introductions. The group. The space.

2. Work in small groups and in pairs.

3. Motivation, coaching. Movement.

4. Dialogues: communication without words and with texts. Simple situations.

5. What is obligatory in the building of a lesson, warm-up activties and their sense. Planning.

6. Games with Rules, their significance. Variations in children's games with enhancement of their drama elements.

7. Games and exercises for theatre.

8. Real, substitute and imaginary props. Working with material.

9. Sources of creativity: sensory perception, emotional memory, experiences and their processing.

10. Observational abilities, memory, Kim's game.

11. A story, narrative, dramatic improvisation. Exploration of life situations from various viewpoints.

12. Entering into a rol, character figure and characterization.
