Synopsis:

We live and move in a mass world of which we are a part. Everyday we take to hand numerous objects. It is all the same to us from what they are made and why, mainly when they „work.“ We don't think too much what it is made from, and that some are closer to us than others. Perhaps we sense in many objects energy potential, a certain attractiveness and even memory, which could tell us about the world and ourselves. Therefore we offer a journey under the surface of our everyday view.

Prerequisites:

Interest in working with props and puppets, introduction to several performances in which props, masks or puppets are used. Active participation in coursework.

Study Objectives:

Main goals of the course:

- Entering into the world of props and things.

- Opening the students view into the world of masks in its complete history and breadth.

- Enable the students to get to know the basic forms and types of puppets and their use.

The idea of the work is primarily a joint survey and understanding of the place and sense of mass elements as bearers of meaning and communcation in behaviour - drama and a basic understanding and comprehension of creative quality - aesthetic function in theatre and drama.
