Synopsis:

This course expands the perceiving of space and its theatrical potential, investigating potential which various spaces and space arrangements offer for theatre and para-theatrical activity.

Prerequisites:

Active participation in seminars and exercises. Each student will prepare in the seminar a set design concept (with emphasis on the space) of a staging or project in a non-theatre space.

Study Objectives:

The aim of the course is the systematic investigation of a space as a component of theatre with its potential and characteristics.

Outline and Syllabus:

- A space and its characteristics.

- Real, stage and drama space.

- The space of dramatic events.

- Types of theatre spaces.

- The influence of the shape of the theatre space on the staging.
