Synopsis:

Excursion into the history, urbanism architecture and sculpture of Prague and looking for relations to theatre vision and perception of space.

Prerequisites:

A condition for completing the course is an individual study of the given professional literature as preparation for each topic.

Study Objectives:

The aim of the course is to guide the students to an greater sensitivity to the characteristics of non-theatre spaces and looking for an analog to the theatre and non-theatre space. Another important goal is an expansion of historical awareness of the development of architecture, creative arts in relation to theatre.

Outline and Syllabus:

Some topics:

- Old Town, Old Town constructions and where they have gone.

- The Charles Bridge.

- The sacred geometry of Prague that is the urban vision of Charles the Fourth.

- Cubistic Prague

- The Vyšehrad citadel

- Conditions in Prague......
