Synopsis:

Working in the study of drama training is conceived and executed in a manner that it is a part of the study play of each year of bachelor and masters study. In the second phase the Practical study is in the form of each student working with their own ensemble.

Prerequisites:

Aside from one's work with children's or middle school ensembles part of this practical are consultations with the instructor. A condition for credit are detailed notes from five consecutive lessons. At the close each student will present a written paper reflecting upon their own work.

Study Objectives:

Provide students with long-term application and verification of knowledge acquired in study. To challenge the personal experience of the students with the role of the teacher who conceives and executes a drama training lesson.

Develop student abilities to independently plan and execute a drama training lesson, prepare to react to an ensemble and their changes.

Guide students to gradually find and build their own teaching style.

Develop in the student the ability and skill to think about their own work with their students and their own work and with those findings to continue working creatively.

Motivate students towards working on themselves independently.

Outline and Syllabus:

Guiding student practice (whole-year, in combination with the two year bachelor study): A continual and systematic working with children's or middle-school ensembles which may have one of the following forms:

- Instruction in the independent subject Drama training (i.e. Drama training literature) at the 1st or 2nd grade level of a Basic school,

- Instruction of some the other areas of drama training methods at the 1st or 2nd grade level of Basic school or at a Middle-school,

- Guiding a drama, i.e., theatre or reading circle/ensemble,

- drama training with pre-school children,

- Instruction of at least one group of the Literary-Drama Study at the Arts Basic school,

and the like.

Along with the above the students will have the opportunity, according to their own interests, to independently conceive and execute a drama training workshop for children recitators or members of a children's theatre ensemble within the framework of a state-wide Children's theatre workshop or review or a regional or other children's theatre workshop or children's performance - in agreement with the DAMU Drama training department administration (in any year of study).
