Synopsis:

Linked to „Current Tendencies in Theatre I, there is a monitoring and analysis of the current domestic theatre situation, continuingthe cycle with a look at current theatre events and trends throughout the world (primarily in Europe). This is also in all directions of theatre typology of developed countries: theatre as a public cultural service, theatre as a private enterprise and particularly theatre in the non-profit sphere (alternative, “third" theatre).

Study Objectives:

The aim is to interate the student in the current trends in theatre and life in the arts by which we are surrounded and which effect or will effect us; students should acquire a maximal overview of international theatre events, development tendencies and current events but as well the confidence to use this knowledge and stimulus in practice.

Outline and Syllabus:

Gradually uncovered is the contribution of today's theatre culture (neighboring Germany as well as other European countries, the US, oriental inspiration and etc.) trends are viewed in examples of particular personas, significant ensembles or whole movements, trends and phenomena which create the production framework and context for domestic development and in some cases the activity of the students. Topic sections are interactively presented in discussions and based on video, and in some exceptions spectator study, as well in a course paper; completed with an exam.
