Synopsis:

Regard is taken of the individual needs and abilities of students.

Prerequisites:

1. Repertoire work concentrates mainly on songs in DISK productions. Additional repertoire is assigned according to the interest and ability of the student.

2. Emphasis is on genre interpretation of individual songs and the importance of vocal coaching.

Study Objectives:

1. Expert training of actors for theatrical ensembles.

2. Care for the culture of the voice and the word.

3. Fostering of singing skills and proper habits.

4. Cultivation of musical feeling and perception.

5. Developing of sense of melody, rhythm and harmony.

6. Sight-singing.

Outline and Syllabus:

Curriculum:

1. Perfecting of breathing and voice techniques.

2. Increased readiness as a singer and improving the quality of musical performance.

3. Gradual development of vocal strength and range.

4. Theoretical aspects of instruction (review).

5. Repertoire: solfege, arias of antiquity, classical songs, romantic songs, actors' songs, French chansons, Jewish songs, jazz standards, songs from musicals.

Syllabus:

Constant perfecting of breathing and voice techniques using

varying musical motifs and shades of dynamics.

Crescendo and decrescendo on one tone, messa di voce and its difference from

mezza voce (half voice).

Review of theoretical aspects of instruction (vocal mechanism).

The solo singing pedagogue chooses and adapts breathing and vocal exercises taking into consideration the individual needs and abilities of the student.

The same applies to the selection and range of repertoire.
