- Synopsis:
-
The course is designed to introduce students to the theory and practice of lighting in film and television, starting with an understanding and analysis of daylight situations and non-daylight situations produced by natural sources. This is followed by an introduction to the properties of lighting techniques in relation to their uses in replicating sources of natural and artificial light. The lectures are accompanied by demonstrations of methods used to construct lighting in real environments and in studio environments, and working with important basic objects (the human face, body). A specific feature of the course is that lighting is related to the properties of recording media, so attention is devoted from the start to practical exponometry.
