Synopsis:

The course offers an introduction to the history of avant-garde film, with a focus on theory (explanations and definitions of key terms, a chronology of periods, selected figures, descriptions of individual avant-garde movements). Each artistic style is studied with a view to possible current manifestations of the form, usually reflected in the semi-avant-garde.
