This course is designed for students interested in translating texts connected with their specialization. The course is focused on reading and translation of dramatic, prosaic, poetic texts, and song lyrics, film subtitles and film scripts for dubbing from English into Czech. In a „workshop“ style the students can explore various solutions of syntactic and semantic problems. At the same time they have the opportunity to practice editing, revising and proofreading text.
To pass the course, students will be given a test translation. Students who attend more than 75 percent of the classes and actively participate throughout the entire course automatically pass the first part of the course and don?t have to take the test in the winter term. Students are required to attend at least 50 percent of the classes. Those with less than 50 percent attendance cannot be tested in the winter term or classified in the summer term.
