Study Objectives:

To introduce students to the basic theories, concepts and research in the area of music psychology.

Mode of delivery:

Course contents:

Music psychology is a scientific discipline appying knowledge in modern psychology in the area of music. The course will analyse the following issues:

1. Subject definition, constituitive disciplines in music psychology

2. Music psychology research methods

3. Physical foundations of musical sound

4. Perception of music

5. Psychological bases of music systems

6. Music skills and abilities (delimitation, definition, classification, potential development, levels of talent, musical skills disorders, specification of partial music skills, music memory, imagination and the musical ear)
