- Automania- Almost twenty years passed since the victory of „velvet revolution“ and fall down of communism in this country.. Our lives entered freedom and possibilites of free market economy. Suddently we experienced surplus of products and so times of genuine consumerism got underway with all possible attributes.Possibly most visible feature of this socio-economical mode seem to be number and variety of cars visible on parking lots, streets, etc. It is evident that the world of cars keeps growing with tendency to occupy more of the city space. Because of need to build more parking lots we cut grown-up tree and their branches so that when they fall do not demage our polished cars.Car industry is rapidly growing and so it requires adequate promotion and sale.
...
Automania is a great photographic subject to work on. It offers variety of approaches and solutions as well. For instance it is possible to depict beauty and originality of car-design, unique characteristics of cars when they are in parking lots and still. The mentality and inclinations of car owners is often projected into their cars and the way how they park. What is hiding in car interiours, what their owners look like then? We often see little children next to home-pets sitting inside...
Cars are representing us with all what we call personal prestige. We have our cars compeeting with others when driving, it is an extension of our competetivness at work, civic life. They are a proof of our accomplishments....
Car industry is substantially participating on our annual budget and so belongs to the priorities of our national economy...
