Narrative strategies Workshop
It is said that a photograph wears the aspect of fact but says nothing. This ambiguity has not prevented photographs from being used to construct visual stories such as the classic picture essay reproduced in books and magazines and more recently as „slideshows“ on the web. In this workshop we will explore how editing and sequencing create relationships between images. Students are encouradged to think about the continuity of space and time in the development of a narrative. The role of text and the directorial approach in contemporary photographic practice are also considered.
