Study Objectives:

The aim of the course is preparations for study and group exercises and mastery of basic procedures in digital sound editing, modification and mixing in ProTools.

Mode of delivery:

Conveyance of the instructors experience, discussions and creative activity.

Individual tasks focused on sound editing, modifications of dialogues and background noise for mixing in ProTools.

Complex modifications of sound material.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Knowledge of Apple OS X

Knowledge of working with ProTools 8.xx

Students must have completed:

„Fundamentals of Computer Sound Processing“ (308ZPZ)

„Computer Sound Modification for Mixing 1.“ (308PU1)

Recommended optional programme components

No elective requirments.

Course contents:

A continuation of the 1st year course „Computer Sound Modifications for Mixing 1.“ The instruction focuses on additional development of theory knowledge and skills in working in the ProTools environment.

Credit is awarded for: submission and presentation of the required work:

a/ final edit of contact dialogues

b/ final edit of post-synchronized dialogues

c/ final modification of background noise volume level.
