- Course contents:

This course is a combination of the presentation of and information about the technical means and technilogy related to working with, production of and presentation of the sound element of film and TV works. The course aim is to introduce, briefly, the basics of sound and sound technque used in film and partially in TV practice.
1. Basic knowledge about sound 1.
2. Basic knowledge about sound 2.
3. The acoustics spectra of musical instruments and the spoken word.
4. Technical equipment for receiving sound, microphone sound reception.
5. Binaural hearing, stereophonics
6. Types of recording, sound and formats.
7. Anti-noise equipment, synchronization of sound with an image.
8. Sound processing technology in film and TV, sound procedures 1.
9. Sound processing technology in film and TV, sound procedures 2.
10. Sound element processing procedures in film, preparations and recording.
11. Sound element processing procedures in film, finalizing.
12. Th soundmaster and his collaborators and other crewmembers and an overview of multi-channel sound systems.

Conveyance of the practical and theory experience of the instructor. Discussion.

Grade and credit are awarded for: Participation in 80% of the total number of classes and submission of the required work and that:
a/ An analysis of a sound component of a particular current Czech feature film in the extent of 3-5 pages.
Further, based on active participation in classes and completion of the final interview.
