Attendance is mandatory. Each lesson builds on material form the previous week, without habitual attendance a student will quickly fall behind. Failing to complete homework assignments on time will also affect a student?s participation grade. Finally, as we are in the Czech Republic, students should speak Czech in their daily interactions throughout Prague. There?s no better method of learning a language than conversing with native speakers.

This is an introductory course tailored to International students of various linguistic and cultural backgrounds studying at FAMU. The course begins with the basics of Czech grammar and vocabulary; no previous knowledge of Czech is required. Weekly classes consist of grammar and vocabulary discussions, exercises promoting conversation and a review of the previous lesson?s topics. In addition, each week homework assignments will be handed out for completion by the next lesson.
Grammar: Phonetic and graphic Rules, Verb Conjugations in the Past, Present and Future Tenses, Nouns and Adjectives, Case in the Czech language (Nominative, Accusative, Genitive, Locative), Word Order, Personal and Possessive Pronouns in the Nominative
