A comprehensive course covering the history and aestehtics of Czech/Czechoslovak cinema after WW2, and the Stalinist period.

Second part of a two-semester lecture course covers the period from WW2 up to 1989. Course will provide students with a general but complex overview of the history of film art and industry in the Czech lands.
The course focuses on both cinematic styles and political contexts. This two-hour class meets once a week, some classes are dedicated to screenings of films which are required for the exam, some classes are extended lectures.
