Students adopt rules and principles of writing a film screenplay and learn the basic dramaturgical process directly in practice working on their own text.
- Mode of delivery:

Screenings, debates, guided discussions, lectures, etc.
A classic workshop, working directly with a screenwriter's text.
If deemed appropriate by the instructor there may be theory lectures.
Debate and discussion is often used to encourage students to reflect upon the various screenplays and help them find a treatment for the writer.
- Prerequisites and co-requisites:

An advantage is a knowledge of the basics of constructing a story and the principles of building interesting character figures. This is in no way a condition.

- Course contents:

A group meeting of students regarding their screenplays. Students present their work in various stages of work and receive individual feedback from the instructor and classmates. The first semester is devoted to developing ideas, investigating viable ways for telling the story and the first draft of a feature-length screenplay. Part of the practice is story-pitching and working on the treatment.
