1. The American Avant Garde of the 1940-50s:

People: Maya Deren, Sidney Peterson, James Broughton, Willard Maas and others.

Spiritual tendencies in American abstract film. Abstract films (Harry Smith, Jordan Belson, Dwinell Grant, James and John Whitney)

Key concepts: II. Avant garde The San Francisco Renaissance, batik film, hand-made film, trance film, Mythos-poetic film, CFA - The Creative Film Foundation, Art in Cinema, Cinema 16.

2. The American film underground of the 1960s:

People: Shirley Clarke, Andy Warhol, Robert Frank, Kenneth Anger, Jack Smith and others.

Key concepts: New American Cinema, Film Culture, Fluxus

3. Jonas Mekas:

Films: Guns of the Trees, The Brig, Diaries, Notes & Sketches (Walden, 1969, 180 min; He Stands in a Desert Counting the Seconds of His Life, 1985, 143 min), Gideon Bachman: Jonas

Key concepts: Film Culture, Filmmakers Coop, Anthalogy Film Archives, Instant structuralization of realty, flash and freeze

5. Found-footage a Collage film:

6. American structural film of the 1960s:
