The screenwriting and script editing study field undergraduate programme focuses on the creation and analysis of screenplays, and instruction proceeds from simple screenwriting exercises to the adaptation of literary subjects into a script for a film of medium length. During undergraduate studies, students acquire the basic habits of their craft that are necessary for work as a screenwriter. Additionally, they learn the fundamentals of thinking about a film in terms of its structure and defined genre, the fundamentals of dramatic theory and dramaturgical thinking. Instruction is divided into a theoretical part focusing on study of the history of cinematography and the history of literature, and in the practical part, the students devote themselves to analysis of scripts and film works, and within the framework of screenwriting seminars they proceed from elementary etudes to a screenplay for a full-length film as a graduation exercise. In the course of studies, the student has the opportunity to work in workshops under the guidance of creative personalities, to encounter diverse conceptions and cinematic approaches.
