This course provides the student with technique, tone quality, intonation, performance skills such that they will succeed in orchestral, soloist, chamber work. The future artist is guided to independence, the realization of their own ideas and the defense of their thought. This is the basis of instruction. The development of the personality is the priority. All issues regarding playing the flute are improved in etudes by Jeanjean, Tomaszewski, Tillmetz with an emphasis on the deficiencies which have not yet been mastered. If simple staccato is not in order, a path is found for its improvement. As well a way to clear double staccato is investigated. Recital compositions are oriented toward works with greater imagination where the student must use their own thoughts and ideas - Martinů, Migot, Quanty, Richter, Rivier, Andersen, Casella, Rivier, Honegger.
