Study Objectives:

At both levels of oboe playing - techinical and recital the maximum demand is applied in execution and precision. The etudes are the most demanding in the aspect of technique, rhythmic, intonation, embouchure and breathing. Recitals present their demands on the students playing level not only in technique but also performance.

2. Recitals - J. Rivier, J. Ibert, R. Strauss, K Slavický.

3. Double staccato is practiced in orchestral compositions which require double staccato - Smetana - Overture to The Bartered Bride, etc.

Mode of delivery:

On-going participation of students in symphony and opera orchestra auditions.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Instrument skills corresponding to the study year and student profile.

Recommended optional programme components

Chamber literature in duet, trios and other combinations of wind, string, keyboard and percussion instruments.

Course contents:

This course provides students with technique, tone quality, intonation and performance skills to be able to stand up to competition in the solo, chamber and orchestral fields. This course guides the students to independence, realizing their own ideas and defending their thoughts. The last bachelor's course is overall the directing of the bachelor's graduation concert and drawing the thesis to its final form. Etudes are selected to enable the study of the bachelor's repertoire. The majority are the most demanding - R. Lamorlette, L. Bleuzet. For the technical and performance aspects attention is devoted to execution and precision. Recitals correspond also to the repertoire of the graduation concert however attention is focused on some period or style compositions which were not sufficiently practiced during study. Assessment methods and criteria

Assessment of instrument and orchestra playing. Fulfillment of the established repertoire. AKS certification. All concluded with awarding of credit.
