Study Objectives:

This course enhances the personality of the student. A way to prepare for the future soloist, chamber, orchestra or teaching career is sought. Student viewpoints are compared to those of the instructors and directed to the proper or possible level. An emphasis is placed on efforts towards one's dramaturgical concert concept. The compositions place the highest demands in mastering the oboe. These are touchstone compositions of all prominent oboe soloists. Modern and non-traditional technique instruction continues.

On-going participation of students in symphony and opera orchestra auditions.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Instrument skills corresponding to the study year and student profile.

Recommended optional programme components

Chamber literature in duet, trios and other combinations of wind, string, keyboard and percussion instruments.

Course contents:

Oboe 9 is oriented towards preparing for the master's graduation concert and master's thesis. An appropriate topic and repertoire are sought. Considering that the graduation concert ins not only the calling card of the instructor, the student is guided to independent decisions regarding the concert dramaturgy. These decisions must be supported by a knowledge of dramaturgy, thought, which joins the entire evening. This course gives the student the opportunity to select their own concept. This similar with the thesis, which reflects the student's interest in some topics. This guides the students to the independent creative path which awaits them after school. The student is prepared for an independent career. Their views are compared with those of the professors and directed to the proper or potential level. This course works with the student as an exceptional musician, who has no apparent issues in playing. The student has excellent technique, tone quality, intonation and performing skills. These are requirements to withstand competition in the soloist, chamber and orchestra fields. This course continues the established path from the previous course, mainly in creative activities, very good oboe technique, tone quality, intonation and shifts in the direction of „perfect form.“ The aim is at the highest possible level, to master the greatest number of oboe compositions. International competitions are a good guide for selecting compositions. Compositions of L. Berio, W.A. Mozart, B. Martinů may be arranged into instruction even if not used in the graduation concert.

Assessment of instrument and orchestra playing. Fulfillment of the established repertoire. AKS certification. All concluded with awarding of credit.
