Study Objectives:

V obou rovinách klarinetové hry ?technické i přednesové je uplatňována maximální náročnost na provedení a precizitu. Etudy jsou nejnáročnějšího charakteru jak po stránce technické, tak i rytmické, intonační, nátiskové i dechové. Přednesy svou náročností kladou velké nároky na studentovu úroveň hry nejenom po stránce technické, ale i interpretační.

1. Etudy - Zítek , Périer

2. Přednesy např. Hindemith, Copland, Bernstein, Páleníček, Horowitz, Berg, Milhaud, Poulenc.

3. Dvojité staccato se procvičuje na orchestrálních skladbách , které použití dvojitého staccata vyžadují- Smetana Předehra k opeře Prodaná nevěsta, Beethoven 4. Symfonie a pod.

Mode of delivery:

Systematic stage practice in solo creations, chamber ensembles and smaller or symphonic orchestras. Regular performance in the performance course and playback of individual instrument classes.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Instrument skills at the level corresponding to the study year and student profile.

Recommended optional programme components

Solo clarinet with other instruments chamber literature (ex; Karel Stamic - Quartet for Clarinet, Violin, Viola and Cello. W.A.Mozart Quintet, C.M.Weber, J.Brahms, Y.Yung and others.).

Course contents:

This course provides the student with technique, tone quality, intonation, performance skills such that they will succeed in orchestral, soloist, chamber work. The future artist is guided to independence, the realization of their own ideas and the defense of their thought. The final bachelor's study, this covers the direction of the bachelor's graduation concert and finalizing of the thesis into its final form.Etudes are selected to allow the study of the selected bachelor's repertoire. Mostly these are the most demanding - Perier, Zítek. In the technical and recital aspects, maximum attentio is given to execution and precision. Recital literature corresponds with the repertoire of the graduation concert but attention is focused on some compositions which have not jet been sufficiently practice during study. Recitals by Hindemith, Copland, Berstein, Páleníček, Horowitz, Berg, Milhaud, Poulenc.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Student participation in Chamber Music competitions and auditions for symphonic and opera orchestras.

Assessment methods and criteria

Student performance is assessed in all facets of performance. First of all the composition the student played is examined and individual pitfalls of performance are pointed out. Also assessed is how the student dealt with these problems. Noted, as well, is the playing level of the student in terms of technique, intonation, sound, dynamics and performance.

Not established. Instructors use opportunities to observe students in their orchestras and chamber ensembles.
