Course contents:

The E-flat clarinet is part of many music groups. This instrument is extensively used in orchestras, as a solo instrument and other music genres. This course gradually provides students with all the skills and knowledge needed in playing the E-flat clarinet. Considering differences in the students ability in playing the E-flat clarinet can be quite diverse, individual paths of instruction are chosen. The reason the students wish to play the E-flat clarinet is also decisive for the course methodology. The individual approach and acceptance of the varying skills is the way to get the less proficient to a good playing level. The solo track for the E-flat clarinet is fundamentally impossible. Many wish to play this instrument for practical reasons which are often advantageous in auditions for orchestra chairs. Students are introduced to the instrument and its potential. For those who are more advanced on the instrument, easier etudes are selected to define playing issues and the most feasible paths to correction are found.
