In this, the final, course all principles are reviewed regarding playing the French horn, at least from the students' perspective. The student must be able to identify all attributes and explain them. This covers proper finger technique, breathing exercises, tone quality, and intonation. An emphasis is placed on knowledge of performance and modern or non-traditional techniques and composition forms which are arranged in instruction. The graduate is able to present their music thought, personality.

- Course contents:

This final course reviews all attributes of French horn playing which may arise, at least from the perspective of the student. The student learns to formulate playing issues. The learn to solve all possible combinations of problems which may be anticipated. The student is guided in their education track to be able to analyse facts and extrapolate proper conclusions. They are guided to an understanding of concert dramaturgy and the psychological aspects of the soloist. They must be able to identify and explain all attributes. In compositions performed they, firstly, demonstrate their music thought and personality. They are prepared for and independent career. Their viewpoints are compared to those of the professor and directed to the proper or potential level. This course works wit the student as a distinctive musician who has no apparent problems in playing the instrument. They have an excellent technique and tone quality, intonation and peforming skills. These are the conditions to withstand well competition in the soloist, chamber and orchestra music areas. This course continues the set path from the previous course and mainly creative artistic activity, excellent technique, tone quality, intonation reaching the „perfect form.“ For these requirements compositions from the basic repertoire and others that are acceptable for the stage. Ex: C.M. v Weber, J.Haydn, Schoeck, the 21 century and contemporaries.

- Assessment methods and criteria

Student performance is evaluated in all aspects of performance. First, the composition is analysed which the student played and individual pitfalls of performance are demonstrated. The student is assessed as to how they managed those issues. The student's level of playing in the technical, intonation, sound, dynamic and performance aspects is also commented.
