This course starts with the most challenging requirements for student training. The most challenging compositions are selected for the technical aspect as well as for performance aspect. An emphasis is placed on precision in fingering technique, intonation, rhythm, tone and breath quality. Non-traditional and modern techniques are instructed.

3. For those who are interested in contemporary and experimental music and other new potential tecniques are instructed - multiphonics, frullato, etc...

- Course contents:

This course works with the student as a distinctive musician who have no apparent issues playing the instrument. They have a excellent technique, tone quality, intonation and performing skills. This are the requirements to withstand competition in the soloist, chamber and orchestral music areas. This course continues the establish path of the previous course and mainly original creative activity, excellent technique, tone quality, intonation moving to the area „perfect form.“ The aim is to master the greatest number of compositions for the French horn at the highest level. International competitions are a good guide for composition selection. However, not left out are compositions by G.P. Telemann, J.V. Stich-Punto, F.A. Rosetti. The inclination of some students towards contemporary composers and instrument experimenters is accepted. This orientation can be for many a life's mission. Others who do not share this are, nevertheless, guided in the knowledge of some of these modern procedures such as multiphonics, circular breathing, frullato, etc.

- Assessment methods and criteria

Student performance is evaluated in all aspects of performance. First, the composition is analysed which the student played and individual pitfalls of performance are demonstrated. The student is assessed as to how they managed those issues. The student's level of playing in the technical, intonation, sound, dynamic and performance aspects is also commented.
