Study Objectives:

Introducing the student to broadest type orchestral part literature in symphonies and operas. Preprations for auditions.

Instrument skills at the level corresponding to the study year and student profile.

Chamber literature in wind duets and trios.

Course contents:

This course provides students with knowledge about orchestra literature and practices the most important solos which the orchestral musician may encounter. In all courses all composers are gradually added with their most significant orchestra trumpet solos. This course works with orchestral studies of V. Junek, L. Lutak, F. Gumbert, H. Pietzsch and Czech Philharmonic parts.

On-going student participation in symphonic and opera orchestra auditions.

Assessment methods and criteria

Assessment of instrument play and particulars of orchestra playing. Fulfillment of established repertoire. AKS certification. All concluded with award of credit.
