An appropriate repertoire and topic are sought. In order to place the greatest technical demands on the student, etudes are selected which are the most challenging in technique, embouchure and breathing - Bordogni, Hause, Hilprecht. Students attain refined fingering technique and the ability to hold any tone. The tone quality must fulfill the requirements of compositions from all style periods.
