Předmět má studentům zprostředkovat základní zkušenost s postupy souvisejícími s procesem choreografické tvorby od výběru námětu a hudební předlohy po konečné dotvoření krátké choreografické kompozice.Předmět má povahu praktického semináře. V prvním semestru se soustřeďuje na problematiku tvůrčí práce s pohybem (rozvíjení pohybu v prostoru, tvarové modifikace); práce se uskutečňuje formou pohybových skic a kratších choreografických celků.

Choreographic exercises on topics:
Movement in a space, movement and form, movement and rhythm, movement and dynamics.
Selection of step mateiral in relation to music. Choreographic inspiration in music of various provenience. Logic and naturalness of music, reversible and irreversible movement, logical movement continuation.
Working with notation material. Reading live music scores. Students search for a composition Theme and Variatoin, for the exam be for the Dean's committee in the second semester.
Course work: based on acquired knowledge, students create an abstract choreography respecting the relationship of movement to space, form, rhythm and dynamics. The professor gives the music sample. Students receive credit for the etude performed personally by the student.
